6 Months

Ridge is now 6 months old. He weighed 19 lbs 13 0z (75th - 90th %ile) and was 29 inches long (90th %ile) at his 6-month check-up. He is sitting up independently, 'inch-worming', scooting when sitting up on his bottom, and doing lots of babbling and 'vocalizing' (a.k.a. screaming just to hear himself scream). Fun! ha! He's a really good eater - he eats rice cereal and fruit (banana or pear) in the morning and rice cereal and veggie (carrot, sweet potato or squash) in the evenings. We just added lunch this week (a veggie and a fruit). I am still making all his solids in the Beaba cooker -- if you don't have one, I highly recommend it. It's a breeze to make homemade baby food! Also, Ridge has his first tooth!! I found it on Thanksgiving day while we were still at the table. Exciting! I couldn't get a picture of it though -- he sticks his tongue out when I try to feel it and covers it up. I'll work on it though!

Ridge is growing and changing so fast! He weighs 19 pounds now. He has started drinking apple juice/water mixture from a sippy cup. He's starting to creep a little at a time. And he grabs onto anything and everything in reach (as I type he's trying to clear this desk & put everything in his mouth!!) Still no teeth! Oh and he sits up like a charm now! Beth called me at work yesterday to say he sit up outside and watched the bigger kids play for 17 minutes!!

We got Ridge's Halloween costume on the mail -- the cutest Rhino costume ever!! Also, I ordered & received by Beaba baby food steamer/processor over the weekend, so we tried that out tonight. Ridge loves sweet potatoes!!

We had our 4-month well-baby and shots this past week (a little late because we had an ear infection and couldn't get them any sooner). He weighed 17 pounds, 10 1/2 ounces (>90th percentile), was 27-inches long (97th percentile) and his head circumference was 17 1/4 inches (90th percentile). He's still not sleeping all the way through the night (except for one night this week - woohoo!). And we are definately teething! Lots of drool & he is putting everything possible into his mouth! We started rice cereal last week & we will probably wait until next month to start some veggies. Also, he is starting to sit up by himself for a few moments at a time...

Cereal

We are venturing into the worlds of solid foods this week. We started rice cereal Wednesday night & Ridge did great with it. He was swallowing most of it & did not get a tummy ache at all. I was very excited! He is a super happy baby these days. Having a nap schedule has improved his overall happiness I do believe! :)

Mommy = slacker!

I am getting worse & worse at updating Ridge's blog. This going back to work business is for the birds! HA! When I get home I just want to play and hang with Ridgers! He is growing like a little weed! Unofficially, he's about 17 pounds and about 28 inches. We go for his 4-month shots in a couple weeks, so I'll update that. He is rolling over a lot now. He is laughing lots, playing in his exersaucer & we just tried the Johnny Jump-Up last night. He's not sure about that just yet. Here's some pics...

His legs look skinny hanging out of this jumper but they sooo aren't! He has the nickname Thunder thighs already! HA!
